Digna Tri Rahayu

A few weeks ago, Joko Widodo visited Suku Anak Dalam to make sure about the surveillance of smoke disaster in Sumatra was still in progress. Cek Endra as Chief of Jambi said that Jokowi is actually the first president who ever visited Suku Anak Dalam. Suku Anak Dalam, who also known as Orang Rimba Jambi feel so enthusiastic when they are given a chance to make a conversation with President of Indonesia.
Joko Widodo said that he would give more concern about isolated ethnic group, including Suku Anak Dalam. Thus, he visited Suku Anak Dalam to help them complete their primary needs of life. In that moment, Suku Anak Dalam hope that Jokowi build them an electricity network to enlighten their life in a forest. Joko Widodo then call for his minister to listening about the desire of  Suku Anak Dalam. Jokowi promise that he and government will give them a proper life including home and many services.
It is not a secret that many of people give many perspectives about what Joko widodo did to Suku Anak Dalam. Many give a positive respond, but the rest give critics and being sarcasm to all of Jokowi’s programs. This condition is advocated by media who have an authority to gain public opinion about news.
Some of media shared that many people really appreciated what Jokowi did, because Suku Anak Dalam seems so isolated, so that government should give more concern about the existence of them. But in the other hand, there are people who contra with Jokowi. They said that this visiting program is just an instrument to gain a positive personal branding of  Jokowi. They also said that this visiting program does not comes up naturally but already planned to make sure that Jokowi’s image and popularity is still on top.
This condition, then emerge a question whether the perspective showed by media is really social perspective, or just the result of politics needs from internal media. It is not easy to us to define whether is real and whether is not because media blend and mix between the fact and the opinion. But we can learn it in variety of ways. One of the way is analyse the barriers that we have when we read a news from media.
The barriers that Indonesian people have is that we accepted a news only from one source and we resist to look for another source. This will make an oversimplified opinion who will lead us to the extreme side. Another  source is needed to compare and check whether this source is credible or not. We can see the credibility of news by looking for the background of the institution of media, who is the founding father, who are the journalist, who are the editor, how they frame the news within their ideology, so on and so forth.

By considering the factors above, we can decide our  behaviour in comment or respond to the news that comes to us. It is quite important because when we put our perspective and  opinion to the extreme side, it will probably emerge a conflict. All we have to do is keep our perspective  not to extreme side. Beside, we better  try to find out the value of the news rather than force our opinion to others.

The failure or success of the state could be seen at the age of 90 – 100 years after the independence day of the state from colony oppression. Now, our state – Indonesia, have already stepped a 70 years old, a mature or maybe an old age considered to us as a person. Eventhough, a mature age did not guarantee a state to become as success as we thought. For instance in Indonesia, there are many distortions of  law, not only made by civilians but also by government. The distortion is such as a corruption, a murder, a drugs, an abortion, a sex out of marriage, and many distortion and crime that we still met in our daily life. The demoralization as consequences of the crime and distortion inevitably made us feel super anxious to the existence of our state, especially the endurance of state.
The endurance of state is one of the crucial aspect that state have and so that have to be guarded an saved by all elements of state. But when we reflect to Indonesia, it’s not so premature if we conclude that nowadays Indonesia lost its endurance of state little by little. The fact said that we are faced by this kind of this situations and most of people blame the government. In the other hand, it has to be a student who bring the solution. But where are the students and their brilliant ideas? Where are they when the state needs their helps?
From this we could see, to build and fix a state is not only did by government but the role of the students as future generation is needed. The students did not lose their consciousness to help a state fix a problem. Besides, they are the next generation that would hold power and authority, at least ten or twenty years later. If they ignore, then who will take the importance position of politics?
Considered to this affair, press student as the critical institution can be the beginning of a state endurance. This institution can also be a fasilitator and mediator for student who will show their ideas and aspiration. Press student as independent institution hold the control mechanism from the flow of information that will be received by students. Press student as the institution that have an authority towards media, hoped can be the agent of change who will help to gain our state’s endurance to become more better.
Press student better not only exist, but also shall be productive and give real contribution to the state. It is evident that Indonesia as our state need more contributions, but not only ideas and aspiration but also realization and action towards the ideas. This condition not even a jokes, because whether we conscious it or not, this generation nowadays only a “big-mouth” generation. This generation talk loudly but give no real-action.
